The House system is an integral part of life at IPS and aims to provide a sense of competition and fun through a range of school based activities.
Throughout their school life at IPS, all students are attached to one of four houses, which are named after historical explorers. This is in line with our school’s mission to encourage our pupils to become pioneers.ach house is assigned a colour, as below.
- Christopher Columbus: Green
- Vasco da Gama: Red
- Amerigo Vespucci: Yellow
- Marco Polo: Blue
House events run throughout the year with points awarded during each event (see calendar). The running total of points is regularly updated and students and staff can follow their score on SchoolBase.
Although there are many events students can take part in, day-to-day work and conduct can achieve points. Therefore, staff and students alike are encouraged to run any appropriate event or competition for the whole school or year group. The aim of the event can be to create awareness around a subject or to link it to an international or awareness event.
